Environmental Impact

The Body Corporate’s prime concern is to maintain, and improve where possible, the existing indigenous veld to the obvious benefit of the scheme as a whole.  Flora and fauna are strictly protected and the introduction of foreign vegetation is prohibited.  Buildings are restricted to 44 buildings in total including the 4 buildings on the farm.  The development is unique in the Cape and the emphasis is on conservation and the enhancement of the fynbos biome.  Cataloguing of the Banghoek plants by all Banghoekians is a focus via our iNaturalist app and we want to play our part towards adding to the world body of knowledge about Fynbos.
